From Wes Anderson (The French Dispatch, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Royal Tenenbaums) comes a darkly comic tale of espionage, inheritance, and uneasy alliances.

Zsa-zsa Korda (Benicio del Toro), one of Europe’s richest men, appoints his only daughter Liesl (Mia Threapleton)—a nun—as the sole heir to his vast estate. As father and daughter set off on a globe-trotting new venture, they soon attract the attention of rival magnates, militant operatives and hired assassins.

With lush visuals, jet-black humour, and Anderson’s signature precision, The Phoenician Scheme brings together a typically immaculate ensemble including Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch and Hope Davis. Michael Cera may have just run away with the film, his deadpan brilliance slotting seamlessly into Anderson’s meticulously odd universe.
