Hlynur Pálmason, the Icelandic director behind Godland and A White, White Day, returns with his most intimate and surprising film yet.

The Love That Remains follows artist Anna and fisherman Magnus over the course of a year as they navigate the end of their relationship, all while their family life quietly carries on around them as the seasons change.

This is separation as you've rarely seen it on screen: wry, tender, and shot through with flashes of fantasy and absurdist humour. Pálmason resists the easy tragedy of a break-up story, instead finding the strange, bittersweet rhythms of a love that changes shape rather than simply ending. A witty, aching, and utterly distinctive piece of cinema, shot on 35mm in the Academy ratio, it is as beautiful to look at as it is quietly devastating.

We challenge anyone to not be totally smitten by Panda, Pálmason's own dog and winner of the 2025 Palm Dog at Cannes, who threatens to steal every scene she is in.

Doors open 30 minutes before advertised start time. All film screenings are ad-free and 18+ unless otherwise stated, and start with no more than a 10 min selection of trailers.
