The Absurdist A/V Jumble Sail #15
Scratch Video for the 21st Century!
mr_hopkinson & Paul Hanson dextrously manipulate the flotsam & jetsam of salvaged DVDs with ancient video equipment while the auditorium surround sound is swooned by Ed Rapley - a full on cinematic confusion for all your utter non-senses
Meanwhile the rest of the Cube throbs and bobs on weird-waves with DJs (including mr_stoloff and Peter Dodd) in the bar, installations and interventions from TAPSEW, Matthew Olden, strange snacks from Snoozie, The Fuggcast Interval Act, a garden rippling with giggles, and well who really knows what might happen, but there'll be more.
Come & find out. Is the Cube.
Typically super-cheap & welcoming bar.
Records still one pound a pop, pickers.
As the promo says : "ask friends for details"
IN THE CUBE LOUNGE : Expanded TapSew & Friends throughout the evening
Sam Francis (sew) Eliza Lomas (tap), Matt Davies (sound), Matt Olden (visuals) with guests Tina Hitchens & Annie Gardiner
Bristol (the world's?) only tap dancing and sewing machine duo, Tapsew are a high drama duet of scissors on thread; needle through cotton; metal via body on floor.
For one night only, audiences are invited to tap, and sew a cloak, and place their bets on how many taps in the sew (a bit like sweets in a jar) - the closest guess will win the cloak stitched throughout the evening.
