To kick off 2025 - as well as our month-long 'Japanuary' season - we are delighted to present Toho Studio's recent restoration of one of Japan's best-loved (and longest!) films. 

What better way to idle away your New Year's Day than with this epic tale of adventure and comradeship?  A film that has influenced everyone from George Lucas to John Lasseter (not to mention a few westerns along the way), it is packed with action, humour, romance and pathos - all presented in the crisp monochrome photography of cinematographer Asakazu Nakai.  What's more, there will even be a fifteen minute intermission!

Doors open 30 minutes before advertised start time. All film screenings are ad-free and 18+ unless otherwise stated, and start with no more than a 10 min selection of trailers.
