Mouthfeel Xmas Party

It's been a minute, but Mouthfeel is back for a bumper festive edition, with our trademark combination of experimental music, performance and pointless culinary gimmickry.

Kar Pouzi is Helen Papaioannou’s solo project, melding baritone saxophone & electronics into singular textures which strip things down to the essentials; moving between thunderous, fractured beats, ecstatic drones and minimalistic, evolving repetitions. Heavy, playful, unrelenting.

Copper Sounds have been mainstays of Bristol's experimental scene for a decade, making their name with experimental turntable sets, drawing beats and texture from spinning found objects like rocks and copper sheets. Since then they've been sonic potters, bellmakers and more, but for Mouthfeel they're going back to their roots with a rare, old skool turntable set.

Jo Hellier is a multidisciplinary artist, vocalist, performer, frequent collaborator with Wojciech Rusin... and mountain leader in training. Expect weird vocal improv; wading in peat bogs with operatic melodrama.

If that's all sounding a bit chin strokey, Raina Greifer is here to remind us all that Mouthfeel is, first and foremost, a party. A theatre maker, cabaret performer, and host of The Cube's PartyGirl nights; Raina will be doing something festive and gross.
And of course we'll be presenting a xmas themed culinary challenge in the form of head-to-head, sprout-on-sprout warfare. Only one will prevail and walk home with the coveted golden sprout.
Mystery cocktail? Of course!
Do I know what it is yet? Absolutely not.
