Asteroid Deluxe's 'The Lawn' (Album Launch) with bespoke visuals from David Hopkinson

Fri 3 November 2017 // 20:00

Tickets: £8 advance, £10 on the door

Following their acclaimed performances re-scoring cult 70's films The Holy Mountain and La Planete Sauvage and their appearance at Green Man 2017, Asteroid Deluxe return to The Cube to perform their début concept album, The Lawn, complete with video art created by audio-visual manipulator David Hopkinson.

The album's inspiration is drawn from the concrete high-rise architecture of post-war Britain, its original modernist vision and subsequent notoriety, whilst musically referencing early 70's progressive rock, Krautrock, French cinema and Morricone's crime soundtracks along with Floydesque ambience.

Preceding The LawnAsteroid Deluxe will be workshopping their upcoming Moons of Jupiter project with four ten-minute improvisations (also accompanied by Mr Hopkinson). The four band members have been allocated a 'moon', each taking a turn to direct the other band members inspired by the characteristics of their moon and its Galilean origins. Expect to hear (and see) Callisto, Ganymede, Io and Europa.
