ADRENA ADRENA
https://www.adrenaadrena.com/

Adrena Adrena is a collaboration between award-winning visual artist Daisy Dickinson and drummer E-Da Kazuhisa, previously the drummer of the Japanese noise band Boredoms and currently British electronic/post-rock band Seefeel

The duo cut a raw blend of drums, noise and organic visual work, featuring in their performances an eight foot white sphere that hangs above Kazuhisa’s drum kit and which Dickinson maps videos on to; her work has been described as ‘cosmological and transcendental, drawing attention to the wonder of the earth and our sensuality on it’.

As a duo, their debut was at the International Festival of Projections in early 2016 and have since performed at End of The Road Festival, Supernormal Festival, Fort Process Festival, Zorofest in Leipzig and other shows across the UK and Europe, with Acid Mothers Temple and members of Wire and Bo Ningen.

The pair completed a short film in 2016. 'Man on the Hill', which features E-da playing drums on fire in the mountains. The film has since been featured on the British Council Film website and in 2016 was nominated for The BFI London Film Festival, Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival plus several more

"The centre of the stage was taken up by projections which, always simple and often semi-abstract, never stole the limelight from the music. It was more like watching a trio, just one at work on different senses to the others. Pretty soon you weren't taking in the sights and sounds as separate elements at all, but hand been induced into a kind of synaesthesia. And if that seems like we're reverting to Sixties terminology like 'trip' we might as well go with it.... it felt like a trip (man), like being taken through some other reality then dumped back in ours at the end."
Gavin Burrows (Lucid Frenzy)

CHRIS CUNDY

"Swirling around the songs was bass clarinet player Chris Cundy,  like a birdsong interrupting an argument"
Los Angeles Times

Playing bass clarinet, various saxophones, and other unusual woodwind instruments Chris splits his time between the UK where he lives, and Canada. He has toured internationally with Cold Specks, Timber Timbre, Guillemots, and Fyfe Dangerfield. He also accompanies songwriters including Little Annie, Baby Dee, Devon Sproule, and Edd Donovan. Recently Chris has started to release a series of albums under his own name.

Becoming friends with Billy Childish - artist, musician, and founder of Hangman Records & Books at an early age instilled and inspired in him a strong DIY approach, one in which quickly led to establishing experimental projects including Grace & Delete - a duo with fellow painter and electronics musician James Dunn. He also started to explore self-developed playing techniques such as multi-phonics, circular breathing, micro tonality and generally speaking a more tactile approach to the instrument. This led to work with composers including Thanos Chrysakis, and Pete M Wyer. Another main collaboration has been with songwriter Fyfe Dangerfield as an additional saxophonist for the Mercury Prize nominated indie-pop group Guillemots.

Other projects include several albums with electronica group Longstone and performing music for Nofit State Circus. One off sessions have seen Chris performing with Moby, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Vieux Farka Touré, Fatoumata Diawara, Alexander Hawkins, and Lisa Hannigan. He has also written theatre music and recently worked with composer Jon Nicholls on an original soundtrack for Florian Zellar's The Mother starring Gina McKee.

ICEMAN FURNISS QUINTET

Playing entirely improvised music with deep rooted grooves and textured walls of sound, they blend influences such as post-punk, the New York no wave scene, electric Miles, avant garde sonics and the spiritual jazz movement into their own uncompromising sound.

Featuring Harry Furniss (cornet) Ant Brown (bass) Tom J Bryan (guitar and electronics) Chris Langton (drums) plus special guest Rebecca Sneddon (sax)

" .. blend of free blowing jazz and post-punk dynamics makes them easily one of Bristol’s most exciting live bands"
Bristol 24/7

"In a time when the joys of jazz and its myriad forms are becoming more and more popular in mainstream music, Iceman Furniss Quintet may be one of the UK’s most shining lights. Based on this recording alone the band demand your attention"
