The Cube remembers director Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Something Wild) with this one-off screening of his masterful concert film, Stop Making Sense. Shot over the course of three nights in Hollywood, December 1983, the film is an uplifting insight into the singular Talking Heads; their electricity, their charm, their eccentricity, and their music.
Capturing the energy of David Byrne & co.'s performance with a personal, unobtrusive artfulness, Demme's direction is arguably never better, and his subjects never more engrossing. Come prepared to revel in a euphoric, occasionally transcendent experience - and don't forget to wear your dad's best suit.
We are also screening SOMETHING WILD (from 35mm) on June 22nd
Advance tickets are available up until 3 hours prior to the screening time. Even if a screening is sold out, tickets are often available 30 minutes before the start of the film at the box office.
