As a part of our musicals season inspired by the release of Damian Chazelle's LA LA LAND, The Big R Big Band return to The Cube stage for the first time since their sold out performance for Chazelle's WHIPLASH in 2014.

Now established as one of the best and most authentic swing bands across the west country, they'll be adding some old timey glamour to what was symbolically, but not completely, Fred Astaire's final musical performance. Starring the sensational Cyd Charisse, SILK STOCKINGS could be described as a kind of cold war musical comedy. Whatever you want to see it as, it features all the ingredients for a classic musical, great dancing, great songs, snappy dialogue and star quality.
