Mirco is the inspiration for a fantastic weekend event called My Big Phat Gender Weekend. Director Silvia Chiogna was a boy called Mirco, a mix up by her grandmother with a blue towel. Since then Silvia often wondered what life would have been like had she stayed Mirco, the same person but a different gender. Unlike any other documentary this thought provoking film more than theorises around gender, it is daring in its tests to challenge and break binary gender rules in society on the streets and in public places of Berlin.
The main feature will be preceded by a short: Wotever World [15min]. Wotever World looks at what makes legendary queer cabaret Wotever special, needed and loved. Join us as part of My Big Phat Gender Weekend for Bar Wotever after the screening.
Queer Vision is the new name for the Bristol Pride Film Festival. Now running all year round we bring you the best of LGBT+ Films and short films as we explore issues that affect our community whilst increasing opportunities for LGBT+ film makers and the chances for wider public engagement.
