Michele (Juliette Binoche) is a homeless artist, losing her sight, who finds herself drawn into a passionate relationship with a troubled street performer named Alex (Denis Lavant). Despite all obstacles, they together find love and shelter on the closed Pont-Neuf. However, over time their unlikely love is tested as Michele's secret past catches up with her.
