After it's hugely successful first night a second helping was inevitable. Once again THE BASEMENT (the cube's new soul/funk/mod night) brings you a seminal film followed by  DJs bringing you music to keep your mojo working. As you may remember all three of these DJs have been tried , tested and enjoyed at the Cube's basement before.

This night open's with a showing of the iconic film by Michaelangelo Antonioni, BLOW UP.  BLOW UP is a  film that captures the essence of life in 'swinging sixties' London like no other film: it explores ideas of reality and carefully walks that line between reality and illusion. Like the characters in the film the audience remains unsure of what is real and what is not! The film is set to an exraordinarily great soundtrack by Herbie Hancock and a cameo by the Yardbirds and we are left wondering if there was indeed a murder. If it was a gun we saw, whatever happened to the mysterious girl and where is the tennis ball! However, all these questions WON'T be answered!

After this film our three DJs will bring you the best in mod, soul and everything in between. Like our last night which covered everything from Northern Soul to R'n'B and mod expect more of the same only better!

So, put on your high heeled sneakers, your red dress, press your zoot suit and get yourself down to the cube for a night to remember!
