A dirty mirror.
A face comes into focus. High cheekbones.
Perfect stubble.
The slightest smirk.
The face of RYAN REYNOLDS, Sexiest Man Alive 2010.
But something isn’t right.
THE BRUNETTE (O.S.)
You’re not what I was expecting.
Picture the scene: you've just run into another... you? Is it your doppelganger? Another you from the future? A clone? Now imagine you're Ryan Reynolds, Sexiest Man Alive 2010. Woah.
It's the story of ego, weird science and the power of good (abs). But mostly it's the story of Ryan Reynolds.
You haven't seen this movie, because it hasn’t been made. The script found its way onto the Black List – an annually compiled list of the best new scripts in Hollywood which has previously featured the likes of In Bruges, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, and Whiplash. In fact, four of the last eight Best Picture Oscars went to scripts featured on a previous Black List, as well as ten of the last 20 Screenwriting Oscars.
Now, with permission from screenwriter Billy Goulston, we’re going to bring it to life on stage.
Join us at the Cube for the very first (and maybe last) live table read of this hilarious script in public.
