(Sun 13th / 7.30pm / £5)

Treasure these two purveyors of myth and memory. Subterranean songwriters who write neo-traditional folk tunes alongside transcendental compositions and heartfelt lyrics. Come hither.

PG Six is loved for his gentle but grounded voice, his dreamlike, psych compositions and his lack of pretence. He was also one of the songwriters in now seminal freewheeling, looper group Tower Recordings with Matt Valentine. Solo he transcends with reels, harps and guitar picking all mixed with sweet melody, distant hiss and moon chants. Not unlike Incredible String Band in its range but with an even more beautiful voice.

Samara is an outsider even in the art-punk and freely-improvised folk scenes of NY. She is also a member Metabolismus, but solo is where she sings/plays "icy French pop through spaced harmonies that recall The United States Of America, post-Velvets/Chelsea Girl balladry and frail, idiosyncratic basement forms that are pure loner" - Volcanic Tongue. Bless this one.
