Wowzers! It's our fifth birthday! Over the last five years we've held 58 events, screened 88 films and destroyed countless braincells - all in the quest to find the most mind-bent films on the planet. To celebrate this we're holding an ALL-DAYER at The Cube: Come and join us for 10+ hours of insane/psychedelic/trashy/bizarre sinema, plus DJs and delicious beers, including "All the Colours of the Dark", a special BLACK IPA brewed especially for the occasion by our friends at Wiper & True!

THE FILMS

13.30:

Beautifully downbeat cult classic Simon, King of The Witches (1971) finds the titular Simon (the excellent Andrew Prine) spending his time drifting between jet-set parties, hobnobbing with high society, living in a storm drain and practising some sort of sex magic on his quest to become a god. Far out!

15:30:

Fire and Brimstone madness abounds in The Fiend (aka Beware My Brethren’, 1972), a crazed killer flick from the darkest, grimy depths of 70s England. Inspired by the evangelical ravings of a religious nutjob and his musical congregation, unhinged mummy’s boy Kenneth scours the streets of London to rid the streets of sin. A real one-of-a-kind Brit horror weird out, complete with sleaze, social comment AND the occasional lapse into gospel funk. “Wash me in his blood!"

17:30:

Take your pick from our VHS unlucky dip. Cast your eyes over that charmingly primitive artwork, those chunky boxes, those hard black plastic shells, and feed on the festering tape within. Cast your vote for the title you fancy watching most. Winner gets screened at teatime. If you don’t like it go and eat some food instead.

20:00:

The Frightened Woman (aka Femina Ridens, Piero Schivazappa, 1969) is an outrageous (and outrageously stylish) psycho-sexual pop-art headfu*k that should greatly please film-buffs and euro-cult freaks alike. Held prisoner by a twisted rich philanthropist with a dark secret to hide, a journalist finds herself victim to his unpleasant and degrading games. But she soon turns the tables on the wealthy sadist (screening from a super rare 16mm print!)

22:00:

The Warrior (1981) is a fine slice of Indonesian sword-n-sorcery lunacy. Indo-legend Barry Prima battles evil wizards AND corrupt governments whilst swimming through a sea of dismemberments and head-spinningly wonky FX. Very odd and very entertaining!

And at approx 23:45 expect a special surprise Turkish nightcap, guaranteed to send you home spinning…
