Join UWE Film Society as we explore Films about Film making in style, with an original 35mm print of Francois Truffaut’s Day For Night.

A loving tribute to film making and the perils that go with it, we follow the lives of the cast and crew on the set of cliché melodrama “I Want You to Meet Palmela”.

As we all know, when it comes to film making, practically everything that can go wrong, will; we see how our crew deal with amongst other things, studio pressure, production errors, massive egos and prima donna felines.

The ensemble cast features Truffaut regular Jean-Pierre Leaud as well as Jacqueline Bisset and Truffaut himself. Day For Night is a sweet, thoughtful and sometimes farcical love letter to film making that coincides with the Cube’s showing of Hitchcock/Truffaut.

We hope you’ll join us for our society’s first public venue screening event, and we hope you enjoy the movie as much as we do!
