If the bleak midwinter isn't enough, Hellfire Video Club are attempting to chill you to your bone! This month's screening is a doozy for lovers of world cinema and horror alike, as we are excited to present on the big screen the poetic, visually-stunning and starkly haunting Japanese-horror-anthology-epic "Kwaidan" (Masaki Kobayashi, 1964).
These traditional folkloric tales of apparitions and moral quagmires are beautifully embellished with a glowing colour-palette and heavily stylised, border-line deranged sets - this rare screening will be a treat for both cineastes and the hopeless spook-addicts… Of course, the well-rounded will have a foot firmly in each camp!
