Tickets: £5 (£8 joint film ticket)

The Cube presents a tribute to Chantal Akerman, the legendary radical filmmaker and pioneer of modern feminist cinema who sadly died in autumn 2015.

We’re screening two movies separated by 40 years - Akerman’s 1975 feature film, the celebrated Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles and her last No Home Movie, released in the year of her death.

Before and after the films there will be Akerman-related extras in the bar, including schnitzels and structural film

No Home Movie

Chantal Akerman's last film is perhaps her most personal; devoted to a woman with whom she had a close and intense connection all her life, a holocaust survivor who raised a family in Belgium, a portrait of her mother, in her final years.

"In No Home Movie, the director returns home to again communicate with her mother, but the images are no longer for her, but rather feel a release, a relinquishment of this home to the audience." - Daniel Kasman, Notebook.
