Billie's journey to independence is accelerated when her mother reveals plans to gender transition, limiting their time together to Tuesday afternoons. Whatever happens to her mother, Billie will always be his daughter.
52 Tuesdays, itself filmed once a week, every Tuesday for a year, unfolds in realist time and almost documentary style. Initially shocked by her mother’s revelation, Billie begins to reflect on and explore her own sexuality, alternating between meetings with her mother and rendezvous with two fellow teens in a disused building.
Boasting heartfelt central performances from its non-professional cast, this unique and at times provocative film tells an emotionally charged story of desire, responsibility and transformation.
