What if Frances Ha grew up? Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig team up again (hurrah!) with Mistress America a screwball comedy with heart about female friendship and the double-edged sword of getting to know someone who seems far cooler than you.

Tracy (Lola Kirke) is a New York college freshman trying to adjust to university life. Feeling unpopular and unable to gain acceptance into a prestigious campus literary publication she reaches out to Brooke (Gerwig), a late-twenty-something Manhattanite who is about to become her stepsister. Displaying all the savoir faire and assertiveness that she lacks, Tracy is dazzled by Brooke's cool New York ways, an inspiring and at least partly disastrous whirlwind of manic energy whose life seems to be enormous fun, even if it’s nowhere near as thrilling as she insists it is.

Please note that we also have a baby cinema screening on Wednesday 9th September at 11am.
