It's been over 4 years since HFVC screened a Giallo, so we're heading back to Italy!

For the uninitiated, the Giallo film cycle ran from the 1960's to the 1980's and were based on salacious whodunnit paperbacks that were cheaply sold at newstands at the time. Imagine an Agatha Christie mystery with better clothes and no sense of shame, usually dripping with sleaze, grue and outrageously unguessable plot twists.

Our main feature tonight is Dario Argento's masterful "Four Flies On Grey Velvet" (1971). It concerns a rock drummer who gets tangled up in a nightmarish muddle of blackmail and murder. Oozing with Argento's trademark hyper-stylisation and a top-notch Ennio Morricone score, this is one of the greats in the genre.
