On Saturday 17th July, The Cube and the TR13E are joining forces to present an evening celebrating the origins and development of industrial music.
The evening will begin with a screening of the acclaimed film Industrial Soundtrack For Urban Decay, a new documentary tracing the origins of the style. Featuring contributions from Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, NON, SPK, Test Dept, Clock DVA, Re/Search, Orphyx, Hula and others, the film takes viewers on a journey through the crumbling industrial cities of Europe to America’s thriving avant-garde scene.
There will then be a chance to quiz Cabaret Voltaire founder member Stephen Mallinder, who will answer questions from the audience and talk about his time in the pioneering audio-visual, industrial funk outfit.
Then, it’s back to the bar for a party until late, with TR13E and special guest DJs dropping industrial jams to get you dancing. If you’re lucky, “Mal” may even take to the decks himself.
