Tickets: £5 / £4

An epic production nominated for both the Palme d'Or and an Academy Award®, Pharaoh treats the life of young Egyptian ruler Ramses XIII (Jerzy Zelnik). With his young passions and idealism, he faces the cold pragmatism of the country's external enemies and internal struggles. Riddled with psychological, moral, and philosophical questions on the nature of power, Pharaoh is no mere sword-and-sandal drama, but a strident protest against morally corrupt politics. This deeply profound artistic endeavour, previously released internationally only in a severely truncated version, has now been restored to its spectacular original form.
