Andrew Neyman is a talented young student at a prestigious music academy who is determined to become one of the greatest known jazz drummers. The pressure of success escalates when he is picked to join the school's top jazz band led by the infamous Terence Fletcher, a brutally savage music instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student’s potential. Andrew's passion to achieve perfection quickly spirals into obsession, as his ruthless teacher continues to push him to the brink of both his ability and his sanity.
