The shadow-puppetry of Devon-based arts duo The Clockwork Moth has mesmerised audiences of all ages across the South-west. Now they bring a hidden gem by the Brothers Grimm to Bristol, a city very close to their hearts. 'The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs,' blends intricate shadow-puppetry, storytelling and live music to create a sensory feast.
A teenage boy, believed to have been born lucky, who embarks on a journey to the underworld and back. This is classic Grimm's - darkly sweet, funny, and deeply magical - A brutal King, a deathly ferryman, a narcissistic Lucifer, and a host of wise-women, curses, enchantments and courtly delights.
"an enchanting show, delivered with an obvious passion and dedication to the craft...a seamless choreography of puppetry and set changes; with a bewildering array of 60 individually crafted scenes passing before our eyes."
- James Richardson, Angel Heart Theatre.
Duration; 1 hour, recommended for over 7s (guideline only).
