Get in the sweet spot with 5 musicians from different scenes coming together to make a wild combination. The fulcrum for the evening and from downtown New York comes the player Peter Zummo a 'minimalist and a whole lot more'. On trombone, synths and vocals his highly regarded emotional compositions are laced with hazy, soft melodies and the ghost of disco dubs. His beguiling enveloping music and fierce inventiveness mirrors that of his frequent collaborator with the late, great Arthur Russell. Tonight Zummo plays with artists, divided by an ocean but bound by a shared musical language, one that unlocks the spirit.

Also making up the New York contingent is Ernie Brooks (bass and acoustic guitars, voice) and Bill Ruyle (hammer dulcimer, percussion). These three have collaborated with each other, since the late 1970s, as well as serving time in such legendary outfits as the Lounge Lizards (Zummo), the Modern Lovers (Brooks).

One of the most individual record selectors from Scotland and part of the Optimo Music DJ duo comes Keith McIvor, aka JD Twitch who helped reissue some Zummo, from London and a massive Zummo/Russell fan who knows his way around a trombone Ralph Cumbers (Bass Clef) also join the stage. Both provide textures, beats and live processing to the show.

This cross generational band fits with Zummo's preferences for keeping a edge, favouring to pull beauty out of chaos and music from disparate sounds both abrasive yet refined.

The special evening will open with a Q&A with Zummo and a very special DJ set post this exemplary live audiophile occasion.
