PLUG 58
(Thurs 30th / 8pm / £5)
with MALE, JOE VOLK, SUPER CASIO BROTHERS, NETSAYI, JENNY GLOVER, TIM GREAVES, MR. MINTON, YARA EL SHERBINI, KATYA & ROSIE

Rasha Shaheen and Joe Volk Present the first 58 records night, a packed showcase brimming with artists across the fields of music, art,
performance art, video and film.

The line up features MALE, whose Teutonic/Arabic mix of post-punk guitar frippery and unharnessed rhythm recently wowed a rammed Blackout tent at Ashton Court; JOE VOLK (Gonga), performing little deaths and rebirths with accompaniment on harmonica and percussion from bandmate Thomas Elgie;
NETSAYI, who combines the rich traditions of her Zimbabwean upbringing with music of the Diaspora in a performance of extraordinary passion and tenderness mediated through her stunning vocals; plus live duel-laptop madness from the SUPER CASIO BROTHERS employing saxophone and their own Jasper6000 software to create unpredictable audiovisual improvisations.
Plug..58 also includes a new short film by Bristol based artist TIM GREAVES and the Premier of the documentary 'Field' a short film by JOHN MINTON representing the work of RICHARD BOX short listed for the Bombay Sapphire international prize with score from ADRIAN UTLEY (Portishead).
