KILL BILL
(Quentin Tarantino / 2003 / 110mins / cert 18)
(Tue 3rd - Thur 5th / 8pm / £4/3)

Quentin Tarantino has been away from our screens (as a director) for 6 years, leaving us to rewatch the classics he's left with us with (Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction...), and during that time discussions have raged about how good they really are. And so what does he do on his return? Yes, you guessed it, rather than clearing up any misconceptions about his talent he gives us Kill Bill!
Waiting over a year while his leading actress, Uma Thurman, had a baby as the film "could not be made without her", Tarantino has her cast as the Bride who was shot in the head and left for dead by 5 members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad (DVAS). The plot than focuses on the Bride seeking the ultimate revenge and therefore sets off on a crusade to wipe off each of the DVAS from her hit list.

Kill Bill follows a longstanding tradition of showing Kung-Fu movies at the Cube, and like many of these early examples will be a real treat, and may well cause a heated discussion in the bar afterwards.
