Clean Cut Records and Deaf Cat presents TEAM BRICK + Freeze Puppy + Headfall (Saturday 18th Sept / 8pm / £4)
TEAM BRICK is one of Bristol’s most promising mavericks. Whether trying his hand at Tuvan throat singing, improvised noise covers of Outkast or
instrumental post-rock, the twenty year old is already an accomplished performer and is sure to keep the audience guessing. Tonight he emerges from the shadows for this, his first headline slot. An impromptu troupe has been assembled to perform covers of his new album in a line up that features members of Geisha and SJ Esau as well as electronic musicians like Mole Harness and Twocsinak, and Clean Cut head honcho Punksi.
Support comes from two further acts who do things defiantly their own way: HEADFALL, a lo fi three piece permanently on the verge of collapse, whose quiet guitar noise, violin scrapes and echo chamber drumming cushion unnervingly honest vocals; and FREEZE PUPPY, whose unbelievable mix of classic songwriting, treated loops and Creole guitar licks, have made him a hit with every audience he’s played to.
With DJ Max Webertron in the bar.
