Dir: Spike Jonze, 2013, USA, 126 mins, Cert: 15

Spike Jonze holds both both writer and director credit for his latest Oscar winning feature, which – as is his trademark – plays with the nature and possibilities of reality.
Set in a near-future Los Angeles, all characters' relationships appear displaced or mediated in one form or another. Impending divorcee Theodore 'Ted' Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix) turns to his newly-purchased, and surprisingly sentient, operating system Samantha (Scarlett Johansson) for comfort, as it becomes clear that she is his (almost) perfect partner...

Her raises questions about the dynamics of human interaction, and about our relationship to technology; resonating in the context of our recent obsessions with social media and cyber-relating.

N.B. Doors open at 6pm for early screenings, the first film will start at programmed time

Please note that we have added two extra screenings of Her as well as altering some of the start times slightly since our paper programme went to print.

Thank you to the Barn Cinema in Dartington, who have loaned us the digital cinema equipment to make this screening possible.
