New York, 1962: the downtown folk scene. Solo singers, duos and trios are playing the Gaslight and cutting and releasing records. And the talented, abrasive Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) is getting beaten to a pulp in the back alley… again.

The picaresque and panoramic Inside Llewyn Davis, named after the protagonist’s no-sell recording debut, ponders the question: how can someone be an angel when he’s singing and playing and a miserable lout the instant the music stops? Like all of the greatest films of Joel and Ethan Coen, Inside Llewyn Davis is many things at once: visually and verbally virtuosic, tonally complex, beautifully constructed, peopled with larger-than-life characters, and ultimately magical.

With Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund, F Murray Abraham, and – unforgettably - John Goodman as a foul-mouthed, bombastic jazz musician. The glorious score of folk standards was loving curated and executive produced by T Bone Burnett.

On Wednesday and Thursday this film will start at 6.30pm sharp, doors open at 6pm!

Thank you to the Barn Cinema in Dartington who have loaned us the digital cinema equipment to make this screening possible.
