As part of Bristol Cycle festival the Cube presents an evening of fine bicycle films:

A SUNDAY IN HELL (1977)

Arguably one of the greatest cycling films ever made, Jorgen Leth’s ‘A Sunday in Hell’ documents one of the oldest and toughest of races on the calendar, the Paris-Roubaix. Renowned for its mud, cobbles and crashes, the Paris-Roubaix has earned itself the title ‘The Hell of the North’. Leth’s documentary captures the dramatic race of 1976 with iconic riders such as Eddy Merckx Roger De Vlaeminck, Freddy Maertens, and Francesco Moser competing for victory. Shot from the perspective of the riders, spectators and race organisers, A Sunday In Hell is a truly stunning film and a triumph of cinematography. Like the race itself it is considered a classic in every sense of the word. *This screening is courtesy of Jorgen Leth*
