Thu 20 December 2012 // 19:30

(Thursday 20 Dec / 7.30pm / £9 advance)

ONE NIGHT. TWO BRISTOL DEBUTS.
(PLUS... the end of the world or something)

Alabaster dePlume COPERNICUS Ensemble

In the process of creating Copernicus, his debut LP, Manchester based Alabaster dePlume has brought together a group of accompanists, who communicate
effortlessly on stage. They address an audience, a mood and one another, around and within his theatrical performance poetry, heart-stirring song and beautiful instrumental movements. http://www.alabasterdeplume.com/

Folly fol.ly /fälē/

1. A lack of good sense, understanding, or foresight
2. A building constructed primarily for decorations
3. A piece of spoken word written by Sally Jenkinson, with a full guitar score by Nuala Honan. Sometimes we think it's a confession about leaving, sometimes we think it's miserable poetry musical. Sometimes when we rehearse, Nuala wears a giant brown jilaaba, and Sally shouts and pretends Gus Fairbairn is sitting on a trunk in the corner of the room.

Imagine what happens when a grumpy Yorkshire poet lady and a grumpy Australian musician lady get together and write about trains, planes and cheap booze. It's that.
