Hellfire Video Club Presents Ozploitation Day: Aussie Double

To celebrate this month’s 'Australia Day', Hellfire Video Club is screening a double-bill of Ozploitation classics. Kicking things off is the masterful eco- thriller “Long Weekend” (1977): A bickering bourgeois couple head off for a camping trip in the outback whilst displaying a flagrant disregard for the environment, and come a cropper at the hands of Mother Nature. Dream-like vibes and a building sense of weirdness separate this from other (lesser) man- vs-nature horrors.
To stop things getting too serious, our second feature is a gleefully disgusting splatter-fest about the vitamin-supplement industry. Featuring melting faces, inbreds, evil bodybuilders and an early star turn by Harold from ‘Neighbours’!
In the bar HFVC DJs will be playing their finest selections of fuzz, scuzz and world-wide-weirdness. Ensuring to bring some strange Antipodean records with them.
