An Excessive Entertainment by Ergo Phizmiz
(Weds 20 March / 8pm / £6 advance)
A brand new between-the-cracks production, once more ingenious in its
hypercolour lunacy, from the beautifully scrambled brains of Ergo Phizmiz.
When the giant baby King Gargantua suddenly disappears in a haze of alcohol, it is up to two opium-addicted hard-boiled detectives to find him. Join them on an hallucinatory odyssey through time and culture with performance, puppetry, masks, animation, collage and music. Created by Ergo Phizmiz, and inspired by the writings of Francois Rabelais, Gargantua is a concoction of mini-epic, detective story, outlandish fantasy, and vaudeville.
