(Sunday 11th, Monday 12th Nov / 8pm / £6 with Director Q&A)
(Cory McAbee / 2012 / USA / 52 minutes)

Cory McAbee has carved a niche in the indie film world with two splendid musical sci-fi adventures 'The American Astronaught' and 'Stingray Sam'. His new film is a departure from sci-fi but still delights with his usual magic and catchy, funny, heart-warming songs. The stars of Crazy and Thief are Cory's children Vy and John, seven and two years old respectively. The children are alone in New York city. Crazy, is a strong and imaginative girl who propels the story by creating its realities. Her accomplice, Thief, exists in the world that Crazy creates. She draws a 'star map' on colouring paper and announces that the duo must follow its outline and with this simple announcement they set off on on a journey through the streets of Brooklyn. The camera stays at knee-height throughout and we see the world through children's eyes, a world full of wonder where every encounter and every detail seem to hold possibilities and
significance that adults wouldn't notice. McAbee has cited early Sesame Street as his influence for this film.

We are thrilled that Cory McAbee will be at the Cube for both screenings to do an Intro and Q&A with a very special performance after. Cory will be performing a solo of his new music collaboration Captain Ahab's Motorcycle Club.
