Super 8 DIY Filmmaking Workshop Sat 13th and Sun 14th October!

Cherry Kino and The Cube Microplex are really happy to announce a Super 8 workshop on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October at The Cube in Bristol!
This 2-day workshop will give you a great grounding in making your own Super 8 films - in colour! Participants are limited to 8 people, so early booking is recommended.

2 day Super 8 Workshop (colour film!)
The perfect course to give you a thorough understanding of the Super 8 format where you'll learn how to make and process your own Super 8 film to keep. The course will cover:

Day One:
# how to use the many different functions of high-end Braun Nizo Super 8 cameras # different types of film currently available
# the history of the format
# a screening of some examples of what is possible with the medium
# shooting your very own Super 8 cartridge out and about in Bristol

Day Two:
# hand processing the film at the Cube using a method you can recreate at home # exploring more experimental techniques such as cross-processing and solarizing # preparing the film for projection (including splicing)
# direct animation techniques
# transferring your films to DVD (made available for download via vimeo the following week)
# and finally, projecting your film at a screening at the end of the workshop!
Oh, and lots of free tea and biscuits!

This course will demystify Super 8, giving you a solid grounding of all the steps needed to make colour Super 8 film yourself at home, easily and affordably, in your own bathroom. You'll take away your projection-ready film on a reel, and will have gained lots of valuable information to enable you to continue creating Super 8 films yourself for (hopefully!) many years to come!
Time: 11am - 5pm on both days.
