A welcome return to The Cube from the 16-piece 'Big R Big Band' whose
near-sellout performance in March in homage to 'The Artist' set a sizzling swinging mood for the film. Expect more classic swing from the likes of Count Basie, Buddy Rich and Benny Goodman as well as some lesser known big band gems.
No Soap Radio is the solo outlet of Liam Kirby, banjoist and Mourner-in-Chief with weird-folk miserabilists Boxcar Aldous Huxley. Channelling the spirits of Roy Smeck, Gary Davis and, on occasion, John Fahey, No Soap Radio is a maelstrom of Ragtime guitar, ’20s pop-ukulele and pre-War banjo.
