Curtis Eller's American Circus

Curtis Eller brings his brand of yodelling showmanship back to the Cube in a night of gully-jumping, moonshine mooching, carny cavorting and old time good times. A hobo fire warms the bindlestiffs, drinks served in jam jars and brown paper bags, snake oil spilling from the rafters, as if Huckleberry Finn ran into a bunch of Tolpuddle Martyrs in the circus.

Making a whistle stop on his UK tour Curtis Eller and band will regale us with songs about sweatshop fires, circus elephants and pigeon clubs punctuated with high kicks and yodelling. Striking a balance between the seemingly
irreconcilable qualities of hearthside storytelling, pulpit-hollering and ringmasterly adroitness, Mr Eller’s artful renditions bear an infectious and explosive charm from which there is no known shelter.

Boxcar Aldous Huxley are a cavalcade of dapper tweeds, inaccurate historical lecturing and rattertrap musicality, trading rickety banjo clatterings one moment for ornate choral refrains the next.Described in a review of the Cure All Cabaret as having "fists in these dirty waltzes of raw loveliness, and a sense that making noise en masse may just about cure all".

Having spent his career to date executing perfectly bizarre yet wonderfully earnest pop songs under the name Freeze Puppy, Tom OC Wilson's metamorphosis from human into pure music and back again has entered its newest stage; a withdrawal from the instrumentation of his previous work to render his technicolour narratives using guitar and voice alone.

Amongst these musical vagabonds and dodging snake oil salesmen, we welcome live performance from Nonlocality Circus Theatre, a troupe of circus folk certain to leave you bowled over and blutterbunged. Come draw some Dr Hall in your bazoo with this fine band of axle-swingers.
