The Cube is 14 years old, so join us for a celebration of the weird in a tribute night to Ed Wood with special musical guests, Spacedog. Spacedog create live music for theremin, vocals, saw, percussion and their famous uncanny musical robots, reflecting their obsession with defunct machines, faded variety acts and the darkest English folk tales.
Called the worst director of all time (although perhaps Michael Bay really ought to have that title) Edward. D. Wood Jr made films in Hollywood outside of the Hollywood norm. Ed Wood was an outsider and an eccentric, writing, directing, producing and staring in his own films. Ed Wood is a cult director today but died before he was ever recognised. Tonight we celebrate his birthday, his films and his life, as well as our own birthday. Join us for an evening of film, music, performance, cheap special effects and Best “Cross” Dressed, come as Ed Wood himself, Vampira, Bela Lugosi, Thor Jonson, Criswell or even Kelton the hapless cop. Prizes for best costume.
