Tonight the Cube celebrates Knifeworld, the creative spawn of
Cardiacs/Guapo/Chrome Hoof guitarist Kavus Torabi and friends. Their new EP "Clairvoyant Fortnight" will be available. This barrage of psychedelic prog pop from the kings and queens of exploratory rock is bolstered by the presence of Bristolian monolithic monster-rockers ANTA and electro-prog ultrapowers Actual Bird. Attendance is mandatory.

Knifeworld are a six piece,complex psychedelic powerhouse. Hook-laden
nerveshatter, dense arrangements and joyful melancholia colliding in
kaleidoscopic music as utopian meltdown. Born of neglect in 2009, rocket fuelled by Dionysian arkana then atom-smashed onto the shores of Lysergia. Cursed into documenting God and the Devil shaking hands forever. Sexy transgression, carnal mandala, a sacrament of truth ablaze in the shit-tunnel of existence. ANTA’s sound is best described as “large”; looming and fundamental whilst melodic and composed. Thick, essential drumming and thundering bass with intertwining guitar and organ that take on a near-regal expression. The colossal prog quartet’s début album, “The Tree That Bears The Equine Fruit”, is a determinedly energetic stampede through towering riffs and infectious rhythms without respite.

Actual Bird started making music in 2008. Originally conceived of as a recording project, with only two members, the first finished recordings consisted of sequenced music and vocals. A few months after finishing work on these songs, a live band was put together. Songs from the first album were adapted from their electronic incarnations and arranged for a 6-piece band and vocals. After some live shows in Bristol, the band holed up and recorded the new arrangements. These recordings make up their self-titled début album, Actual Bird.
