It's tornado season in a small town in middle America, but for one man there are storms inside his head which seem to predict something far more sinister. Michael Shannon gives a heart-breaking performance as a man who is plagued by apocalyptic visions. His family and work colleagues think he is losing his mind. He questions his own sanity. But his sense of impending doom leads him to become obsessed with building an underground shelter in his back yard.
