(Federico Veiroj / Uruguay / 2010 / 67 minutes / Cert 12A / Subtitled)
Ode to love and a melancholy lament about fading film culture go hand in hand in this old fashioned premise black-and-white jewel. About a man whose talents seem to be becoming out of place in this modern era, when his job at the Uruguayan cinematheque is under threat. Jorge (played by Uruguayan film critic Jorge Jellinek) has been devoted to Montevideo's cinematheque for 25 years when he is faced with its imminent closure due to funding cuts and demands that only 'profitable' events be held.

Director Federico Veiroj himself worked at the Cinémathèque and he follows a man without a future who is saved by cinema - and by love.

A timely yet magical film for everyone who is working in or passionate about cinema.
