Tonight sees a fine double bill of electro-acoustic soundscape artists come to the cube. British/Icelandic composer Matthew Collings creates rich,textural and often melodic pieces that span the divide between Steve Reich and avant-garde guitar music. He has released several internationally acclaimed albums [under the moniker Sketches For Albinos], rescored films and worked with the likes of Ben Frost, Nico Mulhy and Valgeir Sigurosson (producer for Bjork).
Joining him tonight will be Talvihorros an equally acclaimed experimental composer from London, exploring the possibilities of the guitar. His
compositions venture into the fields of ambient, modern classical, drone, post-rock and folk but fail to fall into the clichés associated with any of these genres. Live Talvihorros performs solely with electric guitar and effects pedals. Definitely an evening not to be missed!
