(Sat 28th / 8pm / £5 advance)
A welcome return to Bristol for Brighton's finest songstress Miss Lianne Hall. Described by John Peel [who gave her 4 radio sessions no less] as one of the great English voices she combines emotional intensity with heartfelt yet sometimes oblique lyrics.
Supporting Lianne will be 30 Lbs Of Bone aka Mr Johnny Lamb a former Shetland islander now Cornwall resident plying sad folk, lo-fi sea shanties and the occasional layered guitar freak out.
Also playing tonight... the eclectic bunch of local ladies that is I Am Horse [expect close harmony singing, subtle electronics, melodicas and Lianne's former band-mate on drums] and Joyce The Librarian with melancholic cello, organ, guitar and vocal based alt-folk.
Party in the bar afterwards until late.
