What has become of Robinson? After being released from prison, and making his way to the nearest city to ‘haunt’, this final part of Keiller’s trilogy documenting the travels of his eponymous aesthete shows us Oxford – Keiller’s own home.

After his earlier trips around London and the attempted Tour Through the Whole Island of Great Britain which is Robinson in Space, this film finds Robinson ready to cure the world of its ‘great malady’ demonstrated by the banking crisis, global warming, war, and the transfer of British land to obscure owners. Narrated this time around by Vanessa Redgrave, Keiller’s witty, revealing script engagingly combines philosophy, the arts, history, politics, economics, science, agriculture and architecture, all accompanied by characteristically stunningly photographed images of the condition of Englishness.
