The Mountain Film programme for the 23 and 24 November has something for everyone in this line up of international award winning. It mixes gripping adventure with supple questions on our relationship with nature. What price do we pay for a lack of respect or just plain bad luck? We can be in the right place, but at the wrong time! Joe Simpson tells the story of his fascination with the Eiger and tragedies connected with the North Face in “The Beckoning Silence.” The Alpinist and artist Andy Parkin describes how a serious accident changed his life and led him to re-assess his art in “A Life in Adaptation.” Two short award winning animations - “The Cable Car” and “For the Masses” - and “I Can do That,” shot on 7560m Mustag Atta by a team who describe themselves as ‘The Lipstick Blonds’, add humour and irony to a great evening of mountain films.
