Super violent gun-wielding controversial gangster film starring Al Pacino as the Cuban migrant to millionaire Tony Montana. Tony arrives as one of the 125,000 refugees on the Mariel Boat-lift and makes his way up through the criminal underworld to being the baddest ass king of a drug cartel in Miami at the height of the cocaine boom. This remake of the Howard Hawks 1932 classic written by Oliver Stone is bold brazen bad mouthed and co stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Robert Loggia. Released in Spain as "the price of power" (but in Spanish) the film is a dark epic tragedy of the rise to power and the greed and excess that destroys it. Big stuff on the big screen and a rare chance to see this cult classic on 35mm print.
