Evoking the psychological sci-fi films of the 60s and 70s, Duncan Jones' low budget directorial debut is a gripping examination of identity and isolation. Sam Rockwell is brilliant as astronaut Sam Bell, the sole operator of a plant mining Helium-3 on the Moon to provide energy for Earth. His only company is Gerty, the base's HAL-like robot voiced by Kevin Spacey. Sam's three year mission and struggle with cabin fever is about to come to an end when another man appears on the isolated lunar-station. What begins as a small question of one man's sanity unfolds into a giant exploration of Man's place in the Universe.
