Antonioni's biggest commercial success is a character study of a shallow and jaded photographer in 60's London. David Hemmings is the David Bailey-like figure, who thinks he can see the image of a murder occurring in the blown up background of one of his prints. Antonioni plays with notions of reality and the distortion of the cameras lens in this engrossing and iconic classic.
